An area is being prepared for a collection of sedges. This area is a low spot where water will stand in the spring after the snow melt or immediately after a heavy rain. The edges of this area rise to a fairly dry hillside. This provides a good variety of moisture levels for the different species. Additionally, some boxelder volunteers have grown up which also give some shade in addition to the full sun.
